The Shamrock Senior
Center offers a wide variety of education and recreational opportunities
for people 55 and older. All programs are taught by
experienced instructors. If you have a skill or special talent you would
like to share as a teacher, please feel free to contact the Senior
Center office at (704) 531-6900.
Before
participating in any exercise program you should consult your physician.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!
Nothing terminates a class quicker than everyone waiting until the last
minute to register. In order for a class to SURVIVE, we
must have at least a minimum number of participants to
PRE-REGISTER. PRE-REGISTRATION will be accepted by mail or in
person at our office, 3925 Willard Farrow
Drive.
Please complete the
CLASS REGISTRATION FORM and return it to the Shamrock Senior Center
office as soon as possible. All classes need a minimum number to
operate, so REGISTER EARLY!
CLASS CANCELLATION
The Senior Center has many special events scheduled throughout this
session. If it is necessary to cancel a class or event every effort
will be made to reschedule it within the current session. The Shamrock
Senior Center classes will be canceled if Mecklenburg County Schools are
closed due to inclement weather. Please watch or listen to your local
television and radio stations to keep updated on closing or
cancellations.
CLASS REFUNDS
Requests for program refunds will cost $10.00 for processing and will be
granted before the first class meeting only. Our decisions
to maintain classes are based on the enrollment at the first class.
Refunds upon written request will be pro-rated after the first class.
In accordance with
N.C. General Statute 25-3-512, a processing fee of $25.00 in addition to
the amount of the check will be charged for returned check fee.
Shamrock Senior Center is offering A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls
October 6 – October 29 from 1:00-3:00pm.
Classes will be held twice a week for 4 weeks.
A workbook is provided and refreshments are served.

4. Line Dancing (Beginner)
Mondays
September 8 – December 5, 2008
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
You can become part of the “hottest” craze to sweep the
nation, as we will offer a beginning line dance class. Participants can
enjoy the benefits of cardio-vascular exercise while learning many new
dance steps. $30.00 associates $75.00 non-associate.
Class will not meet Nov. 24th. 2008.
5. Line Dancing (Intermediate)
Mondays
September 8 – December 5, 2008
2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
This class is for the more experienced line dancer that
wants to improve their skills and learn “new” line dance steps.

6. Introduction to Computers
Mondays
9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Shamrock Senior Center is equipped to provide
state-of-art classes in our computer lab.

The single senior group will meet on Thursdays late afternoon for a trip

Telephone Reassurance
The Telephone Reassurance Program at the Senior Center is designed to
provide personal daily telephone contact to isolated homebound older
adults to ensure safety and facilitate “Aging in Place”. If you know of
someone that may need a daily telephone call, please contact the
Shamrock
Senior Center at 704-531-6900.
R.S.V.P.
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program at the senior Center is a
nationwide volunteer program. Enjoy working with others to solve
