What
is
RSVP?
RSVP is a nationwide volunteer program. RSVP
invites adults 55 and over to use their life experience and skills to answer
the call of their neighbors in need.
Giving anywhere from
four to 40 hours per week, RSVP volunteers help solve serious problems in
their communities.
RSVP Volunteers:
Today's adults are busy,
productive people. After retirement, many RSVP volunteers use their
experience to tutor and mentor children, counsel small businesses, assist at
health clinics and hospitals, distribute food to homeless or volunteer
as a variety of
one-time community events.
The RSVP Program
has affiliations with over 40 different non-profit agencies in the
Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. We often establish new ones to accommodate
special volunteer interests.
Thanks to everyone who helped make RSVP’s 18th
Annual Thanks for Giving event a success!
RSVP welcomed over 125 volunteers to the luau and
awarded 17 Gold Presidential Service Awards to
volunteers who served 500+ hours in the past year. RSVP
would like to thank the following groups and individuals
for sharing their time and talents with us at this
year’s event: Chef Ron, Community Culinary School of
Charlotte for catering the meal, Bill Toney for
photographing the event, DJ James Yancey for his DJ
services, and Mary Sasa and the Halau O Na Pau Kea dance
group for their hula performances.
RSVP
would also like to thank the following companies for
their in-kind support of the event:
