We
are open all day every day for coffee and conversation, card
playing, table games, puzzles. Although most of our programs are
free, please call to pre-register so that we know you are
coming.
Please note that classes with fees will NOT be pro-rated due
to participant absence or late start.
We have instituted an annual membership fee starting January
2010 of $52.00per person/ $90.00 per couple
1.Easy Does It Strength Training Class Keep your
bones and your muscles strong using hand weights and exercise
tubes. Improve your flexibility, blood pressure, range of
motion, bone density, and posture. This class is on-going. New
comers welcome.
Time: 9:30am – 10:30am Mondays and Wednesdays

2. First Monday of the Month Birthday Bash 10:30am -
Sing Along with Captain Conrad Sells then join us for
our Birthday Bash Pot Luck Lunch at 11:30am Everyone invited.
Bring a dish to share for the pot-luck luncheon. Those with the
birthday of the month will be honored.

3. Knit/Crochet Club. This club
is presently making prayer shawls, baby hats and working on
items for our Luau fundraiser on August 18. We will teach new
comers. All levels of experience welcome. Please bring your own
needles and materials if you have them, and you may work on your
own project if you wish. Just come and enjoy others who love
this craft.

5. TAI CHI – NEW CLASS STARTING JULY 20 and running
through August 24th, 2010
Tuesdays at 9:00am at the Hut at Mt. Zion UMC, Cornelius,
starting on July 20, 2010.
Join
Tai Chi Instructor Mike Gentile as he presents Arthritis
Foundation Tai Chi, recommended for all older adults. This form
of exercise is wonderful to increase balance and strength, both
of which older adults need to improve.
The
first 6 classes are FREE. July 20 – August 24, 2010.
Subsequent classes will start September 7th, 2010.
Fees: $25.00 per month for members/$30.00 per month for
non-members.
Minimum of 8 students to hold this class.
6. Happy Feet Walking Club – This faithful
group of walkers meets at Jetton Park Tuesdays at 9:00am
at the Waterfront Hall. All levels of walkers are welcome.

1.4 miles long. Walk once, twice, or as many times as you
want. A great way to meet new friends and stay fit as well.

7. BINGO Join this fun group of folks as they
exercise their minds and finger dexterity playing several
varieties of this popular game. Two cards is the limit and we
ask that you donate $2.00 per person to help with purchasing
prizes, which you will get every time you win.

8. Hand and Foot Card Game Do you know how to play
Canasta? Then you’ll know how to play Hand and Foot. This card
game based on Canasta is easy to learn and very addictive. When
you join this friendly group of players, you’ll be exercising
not only your mind but your sense of humor as well.

9. Starter Line Dance Class Never line danced
before? Always wanted to get started? This class is for you.
Our instructor will ease you through the dance steps and you’ll
be doing the Electric Slide before you know it.

10. Intermediate Line Dance Class. Already know how
to line dance? This class is for you. Our instructor will lead
you through new dances to the music that you love.

Class will be making a “Let’s go
shopping” basket shown below.
The Cloth Liner can be purchased for $5.00 or the
pattern of the liner will be available for those who want to
make their own.

because of our Annual Fundraiser Luau being held on Wednesday,

16. BOOK CLUB
Join us every second Friday of each month at
12:00 to discuss the featured book and enjoy getting to know
your club members in a whole new way.
This program is FREE and is open to all older
adults in the community. Presently reading and discussing
The Glass Castle, a Memoir by Jeanette Walls. Bring your
own lunch. The movie of the book will be shown while you eat
lunch, then the discussion will follow the movie.
