Senior Centers offer a wide variety of educational and
recreational opportunities for people 55 and older. All programs are
taught by experienced instructors.

The Senior
Centers is anxious to provide up to date information to area seniors by way
of seminars, workshops and classes.
If you would be
interested in teaching a class or leading a seminar/ workshop on any of
the topics below, or if you have a suggestion for a new class seminar

Class Opportunities
Watercolor,
computer use, foreign languages, driving and dancing, as well as many other
classes, are all available at
the Senior Centers. We find the best instructors and offer a full range of
educational opportunities. Seniors can sharpen or learn new skills, broaden
their knowledge and meet new friends.

Social Opportunities
Card players
can enjoy
organized games of pinochle, canasta or bridge weekly.
Special seminars
bring interesting
and educational speakers to our seniors each month, ranging from tips on
investing to crime protection.
Bus
trips are one of the most popular activities offered. Past trips have
ranged from the Outer Banks to the North Carolina mountains. We have a
monthly bus trip to
Harrah's Cherokee Casino, every
second Thursday.
Dancing
There are classes for those with
two left feet. Other recreational and social activities include walking
programs and socials. |
